Step-by-step guide to getting married in Bloomington, Indiana.

Here is the simplest version of how to do it.

1. Fill out a Marriage License E-Filing Application.
2. Get an Appointment at the Monroe County Clerk’s Office
3. Bring Valid Identification such as a driver’s license or passport.
4. Pay the Marriage License Fee; $25 for Indiana residents, $65 for out-of-state residents.
5. Bring Proof of Social Security Social Security Card, pay stub, or tax form will work.
6. Hire an Officiant and Schedule Your Ceremony
7. Attend the Ceremony with Your Partner
8. Get married in front of your officiant, with any guests you wish to include.
9. Sign the Marriage License
10. The officiant will file the signed marriage license with the Clerk’s Office.
