1. Fill out the State of Maine Intentions of Marriage Form at the Town of Bar Harbor or download it online.
2. Bring proof of identity (Driver’s License, Passport, or State ID), and if either of you were previously married, you’ll need certified copies of divorce decrees or death certificates.
3. Either mail the form to the Clerk’s office (if you’re out-of-state) or visit in person.
4. Pay the $40 filing fee. If submitting in person, credit cards are accepted at the Clerk’s office.
